Most residential room installations take 1-2 days, depending on the size and complexity of the project. A typical living room or bedroom can often be completed in a single day. Larger projects, such as whole-home flooring or multi-room installations, may take 3-5 days. During your consultation, we'll provide a more specific timeline based on your project's details.

There are no hidden fees or pressure tactics — just honest information to help you make the best decision for your home.

For homes with pets, we typically recommend luxury vinyl plank (LVP) or tile flooring. Both options are waterproof, scratch-resistant, and easy to clean. If you prefer hardwood, consider harder species like Hickory or adding area rugs in high-traffic pet zones. Our team can help you evaluate the best option based on your specific pets and lifestyle needs.

In many cases, yes! Whether we can install over existing flooring depends on the current condition and type of flooring. Vinyl, laminate, and some types of carpet can often be installed over existing floors if they're in good condition and properly prepared. Hardwood typically requires removal of existing flooring. During your consultation, we'll assess your situation and recommend the best approach.

Solid hardwood is made from a single piece of wood throughout its entire thickness (typically 3/4"), while engineered hardwood consists of a real wood veneer bonded to a plywood core. Solid hardwood can be refinished multiple times and is ideal for above-grade installations. Engineered hardwood offers better resistance to moisture and temperature changes, making it suitable for basements and over radiant heat systems. Both look equally beautiful when installed properly.

Before installation, we recommend: clearing furniture from the rooms being floored, removing breakable items and decor, ensuring the space is accessible for our team, and removing any fragile items from walls (like pictures) in case of vibration. We handle all demolition and disposal of old flooring materials. We'll provide detailed preparation instructions before your scheduled installation date.

We accept various payment methods including credit cards, checks, and cash. While we don't directly offer financing, we can provide suggestions for home improvement financing options available through local banks and credit unions. Additionally, we can often work within your budget by discussing material alternatives or phased installation plans.

The frequency depends on traffic and wear. In high-traffic areas, hardwood may need refinishing every 7-10 years, while low-traffic areas might go 15-20 years between refinishing. Signs that it's time include visible scratches, dull finish, water spots that won't buff out, and worn areas in high-traffic zones. Regular cleaning and prompt attention to spills can extend the time between refinishing.

Traditional laminate is moisture-resistant but not fully waterproof. However, many modern laminate products now offer enhanced water resistance. For truly waterproof flooring in moisture-prone areas like bathrooms and kitchens, we recommend luxury vinyl plank (LVP) instead. We can help you compare options during your consultation.

Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) is our top recommendation for basements because it's completely waterproof, handles humidity well, and can be installed over concrete. Engineered hardwood is another option as it's more stable than solid hardwood in below-grade applications. We avoid installing carpet in basements due to moisture concerns unless proper waterproofing measures are in place.
